Donate New Socks

We gladly accept new socks for men, women, and children. Your donation goes directly to shelters and individuals in need.

How to Send Your Socks

  • By mail: Send new socks to S.P.I.N., 336 Spyglass Way, Aptos, CA 95003.
  • Drop-off: Contact us to arrange a drop-off time or find your nearest collection point.
  • Large donations: If you're sending more than a few boxes, or your group has run a sock drive, contact us first, and we'll arrange pickup where possible.
Please send socks new and unopened in their original packaging when possible. This helps keep them clean during shipping and ready to give to people in need.

To date, S.P.I.N.’s largest contributor has been BOMBAs, a well-known American corporation which has donated more than 60,000 pairs of new, top-quality socks to our program, following up on the company’s own mission statement:  “One Purchased – One Donated.”

Where Your Money Goes

Donations fund the socks themselves, the supplies needed to sort and pack them, and the deliveries that get them to our partners.

We buy socks in bulk and work with partners who already serve people in need. We also share what your support helps make possible.

You can also support our mission in a few other ways:
  • Employer matching: Many companies match employee donations dollar for dollar. Ask your HR team if your gift can be matched.
  • Corporate and in-kind giving: Businesses can sponsor bulk sock purchases or donate products and services that help us avoid extra costs.
  • Host a sock drive: Collect new socks at your school, office, or community group. We’ll provide the materials and arrange pickup for the donations.
  • Give in someone's honor: Donate in honor or memory of a friend, family member, or loved one. Just let us know when you give.

Donation Questions

Is my donation tax deductible?
S.P.I.N. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You’ll receive an emailed receipt for every gift, which you can keep for your records.
No, we accept new and unworn socks only. Since socks are worn directly against the skin, everyone we serve deserves a clean and new pair.
They go to shelters, outreach teams, schools, and community programs in our network, where they’re given directly to people who need them.
Let us know where you’d like your donation to go, such as a specific shelter, children’s socks, or winter distribution, and we’ll do our best to make sure your donation goes there.
